When Staking Rewards Compound: Measuring the Impact of Ethereum's Pectra Upgrade

2026 Nanyang Blockchain Conference (NBC)
Mohammed Benseddik, Benjamin Kraner, Claudio J. Tessone

Examines how Pectra's 0x02 compounding validators reshape consensus-layer rewards, simulating the APR uplift across staker types and analysing early adoption and migration barriers on the beacon chain.

Data Science & Blockchain Research.

I work across data science, quantitative research and digital assets. At Entropy Advisors, I work with Arbitrum DAO and Offchain Labs on consensus mechanisms, incentive design, yield simulation and the data infrastructure supporting on-chain analysis, including architecture for a 10+ TB on-chain data lake.

Previously, I led Data & AI teams at 21Shares and Natixis, supporting research, trading and portfolio-management teams. My work has ranged from quantitative research and portfolio backtesting to production analytics platforms, data-quality systems and market-data workflows.

I am also a PhD researcher at the University of Zurich Blockchain Center, focused on incentive mechanisms and market design in decentralized systems. My research combines statistical modelling, machine learning and on-chain data analysis.
